Here's something else to ponder. The World GDP is about 35 trillion last I checked. If this GDP is a 5% return on the World's total capital, then we collectively are worth almost $1 quadrillion.

35 000 000 000 000 / .05 = 7.0 × 10^14

That means that every person on the planet is worth over $100,000 if everything was equal.

(35 000 000 000 000 / .05) / 6 000 000 000 = 116 666.667

I know I do not trust the Democrats since they seem to be going towards Big Government Health Care. My Doctor has said he doesn't like what Universal Health Care means for his or his patients. It doesn't give us the best health care.
I am not sure who i trust. Right now the Democrats are only about themselves. . . . . they aren't in it for the interest of the people, I can see that.

Dr. Bryantbruce's point is well taken. Concierge medicine is the natural outcome one would expect in a capitalist economy. Supply and demand cannot be legislated away. Quality care cannot be mandated. When doctors finally realize that they have the power to shape the healthcare delivery system, when they understand that they can force change by with holding their services, then and only then will meaningful change be possible. And replacing private insurers with a government option will only rerout the expropriated funds that should pass naturally from the consumer to the provider.

It is my humble opinion that you are mistaken about the order of things. I believe that concierge medicine is leading the healthcare reform rather than being a consequence of the push for universal healthcare. Healthcare reform will have to abandon the disease management paradigm and begin promoting a preventive health, wellness management model, which is what concierge medicine promotes. It will have to reward physicians for choosing primary care over specialty practices and to promote working conditions for them that are in the best interest of both the practioner and his patients. Current conditions are intolerable and primary care providers are reacting accordingly, opting to take other paths to being able to practice medicine the way they intended to in the first place.
